A new Mrs Colombia is crowned in Bogota

Layla Martinez Diaz strutted her stuff and was crowned the new Mrs Colombia in Bogota Sunday.

The 26-year-old lawyer, hailing from the northern department of Cesar, beat out 14 other contestants to take the crown.

Diaz will likely be a good ambassador for Colombia. She is married with a five-year-old daughter and speaks two languages.

Mrs Colombia is one of hundreds of beauty pageants in the country. Candidates must be married to be allowed to take part.
