U.S. and Colombian authorities intercept a speed boat carrying 600 kilos of cocaine off the Colombian Pacific coast Monday, reports Univision.
The interception occurred 100 kilometers off the coast of the western Colombian department of Choco.
Three people on the boat began to dump the cocaine in the ocean when they spotted authorities but it was later recovered by US Coast Guards, reports Univision. The boat’s occupants were delivered to authorities in Bahia Solano, Choco.
The search and seizure of the speed boat was made possible by a Maritime Interdiction Agreement signed by the U.S. and Colombia.
