$55M worth of assets confiscated from former Cali cartel kngpin

Among the goods seized are 68 properties and 18 companies, all of which will become the property of the State when the operation is ratified by a judge, announced Vice Prosecutor General Jorge Fernando Perdomo.

The decision marks the end of a nine year process, during which time National Unit for Confiscation of Goods and Asset Laundering have been examining the extent of the goods to be seized from Perafan.

“These goods should pass into the hands of the State as a result of having been acquired illegally or for having been used in the commission of unlawful activities,” clarified Fernando Perdomo.

Pastor Perafan was captured in 1997. Extradited to the United States later that year, he is now serving a 30 year sentence for drug trafficking undertaken while one of the kingpins of the Cali Cartel.
