5 killed, 10 injured in Nariño massacre

A man killed five people and injured at least ten others after a bar fight escalated in a village in the south-west Colombia.

According to several media, the man indiscriminately opened fire at a bar in the village of Tuquerres, Nariño, killing a 16-year-old girl, her baby, and three others.

Authorities said the man — a suspected ELN guerrilla — acted out of rage and had no political motive.

According to Caracol TV, bar personnel initially refused to sell the man alcohol, which led to a fist fight. After the fight, the man went home to get a firearm and on return opened fire on all present in the bar.

The suspected killer was arrested.
