5 days of food heaven at Bogota’s Gastronomy 2011

Colombia’s Gastronomy 2011 presents five days of food heaven, from Wednesday, October 5 to Sunday, October 9 in Bogota.

The highlight of the giant food fair, held at event center Corferias, is a culinary showcase by three Argentine chefs from the Gourmet channel.

First there’s Fernando Trocca, who has cooked up Argentine delights for Robert De Niro, David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Jack Nicholson.

On the healthier side, Juliana Lopez May will offer up her freshest vegetarian fare.

And Pedro Lambertini has spent nearly 30 years perfecting his organic offerings, but his greatest loves, baked goods, are also sure to please.

Then sample the latest lineup from 30 global kitchen masters – hailing from Italy, France, Chile, Ecuador, Lebanon, and the United States, among others.

Wash it down at the ultra-hip wine bar, the Wine Experience, which offers glasses for a mere $2.05 (COP4,000) apiece. The experience features wines from France, Spain, California, and of course South American wine jewels Chile and Argentina.
