5 Colombian banks among the biggest 50 in LatAm

Five Colombian banks made it into the list of biggest 50 banks in Latin America, two more than in the 2010 rankings.

Bancolombia, Banco de Bogota, Davivienda, BBVA, and Banco de Occidente placed 20th, 23rd, 27th, 37th and 45th respectively. The list was complied by financial publication America Economia.

Two Colombian banks also made the grade among the best 25 banks in the continent. Banco de Bogota ranked 16th and Bancolombia placed 22nd.

Itau of Brazil was named South America’s best bank.
