4 killed, 12 injured in Bogota traffic accident

A traffic accident in the south of Colombia’s capital Bogota left four dead and 12 injured Wednesday.

A public bus suffered technical problems with its brakes and collided into other vehicles.

According to preliminary reports from weekly Semana, the driver lost control and collided into an ambulance, a private vehicle and another public bus, before coming to a halt after colliding with a pole.

It is reported that 3 of the deaths came from vehicles with which the bus collided with, with the fourth fatality a pedestrian.

The secretary of transportation in Bogota reported that the incident occurred in the area of Chuniza, Usme, specifically between carrera 1 and calle 91.
