International acts to play Bogota festival

Internationally-renowned bands will play Bogota as the Colombian capital hosts the first ever Al Cubo 3 Festival.

Los Angeles indie rockers Foster the People will kick off the festival Tuesday March 27. The band rose to fame following the viral explosion of their music video “Pumped Up Kicks.”

Washington DC electronic duo Thievery Corporation will headline the following Tuesday April 3 with their unique sound, sampling everything from modern dub to Middle Eastern classic and everything in between.

English trio Friendly Fires will conclude the festival the following night, marking the second time the band has played Colombia.

The musical acts are just one part of the festival, which seeks to “highlight the talents of visual artists in the digital age.” It will include installations and exhibits in various media including photography, painting, video, and performance art.

Each night will be accompanied by an assortment of local DJs and bands.
