121 hours of playing drums for world record and peace

Two men from Buenaventura are playing drums for 121 hours straight
in an attempt to break a world record. The drummers are calling for peace in the streets of Bogota.

The two musicians, decked out in traditional African dress, started playing last Sunday at 10AM in the San Francisco church. The duo plans to drum until Friday at 11AM.

Milton Siriaco Amu, who calls himself the “general of peace”, told Radio Caracol that he wants people in the city to understand how important freedom is.

Amu’s accompaniment, “colonel of peace”, Jose Maria Sanchez, said that he is feeling a bit tired after playing for five days straight. The stress, he said, is relieved by people who come to watch.
