Colombia’s Orlando Duque on Wednesday dove out of a helicopter, landing in NewYork’s Hudson River, just in front of the Statue of Liberty, as part of a promotional stunt for the Cliff Diving World Series.

Red Bull has become famous for working with athletes to pull off these types of adrenaline-filled publicity spectacles, and Orlando Duque, the world’s first- ever high-dive gold medalist, took advantage of the beverage company’s resources to build hype for its Cliff Diving World Series, being held this weekend in Boston, in which he is looking to win back his world championship title.

The stunt used New York City’s iconic Statue of Liberty as a backdrop, as Duque backflipped out of a helicopter into the Hudson River, some 82 ft. below.

Photos and video from the event are posted on Red Bull’s website, as is information regarding the 2013 Cliff Diving World Series.
