Thousands of female entrepreneurs will take over the city of Cali later this week for an International Summit on Women in Business, to celebrate the year of the woman as declared by the Organization of American States (OAS).

The summit will be held June 23-27 at the Centro de Eventos Valle Pacifico. The week-long celebration will feature twelve events celebrating the innovation of women in business, including a runway show featuring local artisans and fashionistas.

During the summit, leaders will meet to discuss issues concerning women. An international forum on equality will take place with leaders from Chile, Mexico, Peru, Spain, and the U.S.

Round tables will be hosted throughout the summit to discuss equal opportunities in labor for women, the eradication of violence against women, and the role of women educators.

The event will conclude on Sunday with a gastronomy fair and a tribute to women leaders from the department of el Valle.
