Woman caught smuggling cocaine in fake breasts

A Panamanian woman flying from Colombia was arrested in Spain for smuggling large amounts of cocaine in her fake breasts, local media reported Wednesday.

The woman attempted to smuggle over 1.3 kilograms of cocaine through Spain’s El Prat airport. Yet when she failed to give anything more than vague and suspicious answers as to why she made the trip, customs officers decided to question her further.

While undergoing an examination, officers found two blood-stained gauze pads under her breasts. The woman claimed she had undergone plastic surgery two months ago and the wounds had not yet healed. Further suspicion was raised when the examiners noticed a white substance in her implants.

She underwent surgery to have the large bags of cocaine removed and was subsequently charged for drug smuggling.

Flights that are prone to be used by smugglers are known by the Spanish authorities as ‘’hot flights.’’ Smugglers have been finding more and more unorthodox ways to transport cocaine in and out of South America including hiding it in jars of strawberry jam and tanks full of tropical fish.
