This year has been a good one for Villegas, who now occupies the 34th position in the PGA Tour.
His first top ten position came in April, finish seventh at the
Verizon Heritage tournament. And a month later, the Colombian ended in
third place at the prestigious AT&T Classic.
But his best form came in August with a great fourth place at the
PGA Championship and now, his shared third place at the Deutsche Bank
Championship in Boston, Massachussets.
After a three below par first round and a five below par second,
Villegas showed his best play on day three with a great eight under par
finish. Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite as well on the final day
with a two over par performance, allowing the well known Ernie Els to
catch up with Villegas and share the third place in the final standings.
