Villegas claims maiden PGA Tour win

Colombian Camilo Villegas claimed his maiden PGA Tour title with a
two-shot victory over Dudley Hart at the BMW Championship on Sunday
while Vijay Singh tightened his grip on the FedEx Cup trophy.

Villegas sealed the win at the Bellerive Golf Club with a final
round two-under 68 and a winning total of 15-under 265 to snap a
three-year title drought and collect the $1.26 million winner’s check.

Singh, who captured the first two
events of the FedEx playoff series, put an end to any suspense at the
season-ending Tour Championship in three weeks by quietly clinching the
title in St. Louis.

The Fijian spent the entire week out
of the spotlight finishing well down the leaderboard in a tie for 44th
and now only has to show up in Atlanta and play all four rounds at East
Lake to accept his trophy and a $10 million playoff bonus. (Reuters)
