Video of ‘Mono Jojoy’ death released

The Colombian army on Monday released a video of the moment when they discovered the body of FARC commander “Mono Jojoy.”

The video, recorded a day after Mono Jojoy’s camp was bombed, shows the concluding stages of “Operation Sodom,” an offensive against a FARC encampment carried out on September 22 and 23 last year.

Mono Jojoy, also known as “Jorge Briceño Suarez”, was thought to be the group’s second-in-command, and military leader of virtually all guerrillas in the rebels’ war against the state.

Some 20 guerrillas were also killed in the attack carried out 120 miles south of Bogota.
