‘Vergara asked to produce sitcom’

U.S. television producer Ben Silverman is finalizing a deal with television network ABC about the production of his second remake of an originally Spanish-language sitcom, this time with the help of Colombian hottie Sofia Vergara, U.S. media report.

According to media website deadline.com, the Emmy-award winning producer plans to do a remake of the Spanish “Aqui no hay quien viva,” and asked Sofia Vergara to be the series’ executive producer.

Vergara is already contracted by ABC to play in the Emmy award winning sitcom Modern Family.

Silverman earlier produced hit series “Ugly Betty,” a remake of the Colombian “Betty La Fea, and “The Office.”
