Venezuelan soldier ‘fires at Colombians’

Colombian authorities are investigating an incident on the Colombia-Venezuala border where a Venezuelan soldier allegedly shot at a boat carrying civilians, Colombian media reported Thursday.

The boat was traveling along the Arauca river, carrying passengers and goods from El Amparo, when a member of the Venezuelan army allegedly fired at the boat.

Carlos Julio Alvarez, who was on the boat, said that the soldiers opened fire without warning and it seemed that they were aiming at the boat’s driver.
