Venezuelan communists organize anti-Uribe march

The Communist Party called on Venezuelans to reject the policy of Uribe, who the party described as a warmonger and a servant of US interests. The communists are joined by student movements, workers and women, the International Solidarity Committee, the Anti-imperialist Front and the Communist Youth of Venezuela.Chávez, – unhappy with the demonstration – said the communists “can go ahead with their march”, but accused the Communist Party of hypocrisy.”I invite the Colombian President to shake hands, to talk and to seek cooperation, while respecting the differences between the countries. Colombia is a sister country of Venezuela and we (Venezuelans) are obliged to find and understanding with the government Colombia has,” he added.Uribe will meet Chávez Friday to discuss improving bilateral ties.
