A Venezuelan production company will film a 26-episode television series on the childhood of Colombian Nobel Prize-winning writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The series, to be titled “The Teacher and the Nobel,” will focus on Garcia Marquez’s childhood and his relationship with his teacher Rosa Fergusson.
Caracas-based production company Factor RH will film the series in Colombia. According to Venezuelan producer Rodolfo Cova, the television show will air on Colombian and Venezuelan television, but Factor RH hopes it will also be sold to other countries such as the U.S., as well as in the Latin American market.
Cova said that a Colombian child will pay Garcia Marquez, while Mexican actress Angelica Maria and her daughter Angelica Vale are in line for the role of Rosa Fergusson.
The film will be based on the book “The Teacher and the Nobel” by Colombian author Beatriz Parga.
