Venezuela sends prints of presumed rebels to Colombia

Venezuela’s National Guard is providing security at the hospital, and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro is in touch with the Colombian government, according to an e-mailed statement from Venezuela’s information ministry.”This person doesn’t match the identity that’s being broadcast in the media,” Hidalgo said, standing next to the unidentified man as he lay in a hospital bed with a bandage over his jaw. “Through the investigation process we’ll know this person’s true identity.”During the broadcast, Hidalgo didn’t mention the second unidentified man.Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has mediated hostage releases this year with the FARC, as the Marxist guerrilla group is known, and asked governments around the world to remove them from their list of terrorist groups.
