Vallenato singer Silvestre Dangond is being sued for allegedly grabbing the genitals of a 14-year old boy during a concert in the north of Colombia.
In a video that was published on video website YouTube, the singer is seen putting money in the front pocket of the boy after a performance and, as the boy walks off the stage, grabbing the boy in the front.
The video caused controversy because it is unclear whether the singer was touching the boy’s private parts or the pocket where Dangond seconds before put the money.
The singer, apparently under pressure because over the controversy, told Colombian radio that what occurred was “characteristic” of the coastal region and that he and his cousins “played like this without there being a taboo.”
The singer, mostly famous for his hit “Me gusta, me gusta,” apologized for what happened on stage and vowed it would never happen again.
This was not sufficient for attorney Augusto Campo, who announced to sue the singer for grabbing the child’s genitals.
