US is largest group at Summit of the Americas in Colombia

The US will be the largest delegation at the 6th Summit of the Americas in Colombia.

Radio Nacional de Colombia said the US delegation will consist of over 700 people.

The US delegation is also one of the few delegations to have its own security, on top of the protection Colombia is providing.

The conference between all the countries of the Americas – with the exception of Cuba – officially runs from April 14 to 15, but preliminary meetings have already begun.

Major topics of the agenda include a debate on drug legalization which the US has said it is “willing to listen to,” and Colombia’s Free Trade Agreeement with the US, which US President Barack Obama is expected to approve despite Colombia’s violent labor record.
