US dollar rises above COP2,000

The Colombian peso depreciated to close at its weakest level since September 3 as the country’s Central Bank suspended a program of auctions designed to limit the currency volatility.

The peso weakened to 2,021.9 pesos to the dollar from COP1,983 on Tuesday. The currency hadn’t closed that weak since Sep. 3, when it ended at COP2,026.
