Uribe ignores resignation Restrepo

Colombian President Álvaro Uribe refuses to accept the resignation of
the Government’s High Commissioner of Peace Luis Carloe Restrepo.

In a press statement, released by the Casa de Nariño Friday, the President reiterates his confidence in the High Commissioner and says Restrepo will continue working for the Government as High Commissioner of Peace.

Restrepo resigned Tuesday after his decision to not allow any press near the airport of Villavicencio where former hostage Alan Jara would arrive after his liberation was overruled by the Presidency and his role as Government coordinator of the releases was taken over.
