The President ordered the authorities of the department Antioquia to combat the criminal groups without appeasement. “We have to bring security back for all people of Colombia’s second largest city”, said he.
Uribe pointed out that to confront the evolving gangs, the army, police, DAS (Colombia’s intelligence agency), civil authorities and the community have to work together.
“We will have to offer rewards for every assassination to capture the murderers,” Uribe stated as one of the measurements.
Medellín has been seeing a rise in violence and assassinations the last couple of month.
