UN to observe investigations on wiretapping scandal: Supreme Court

Colombia’s Supreme Court said Friday the United Nations agreed to monitor
the investigations into the allegedly illegal wiretapping by
intelligence agency DAS.

“A UN rapporteur will evaluate all the information on the wiretapping scandal, will issue a final report and give recommendations to the Colombian government”, the president of the Supreme Court, Augusto Ibañez, said.

The date of the rapporteur’s visit will be set within the next days by the Colombian government and the UN, local media reported.
