UK: Security in Colombia improved

The renewed travel advice for Colombia of the United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office stresses the improved security in the country, but advises against traveling to remote areas.

According to the British document, approximately 18,000 British citizens travel to Colombia each year, most without having any trouble.

The Foreign Ministry does advise not to travel to rural areas bordering Panama, Venezuela and Ecuador, the towns of Buenaventura and San José del Guaviare and the National Park La Macarena in Meta.
