Landslide kills two

Two people were killed by a landslide triggered by heavy rains falling in central Colombia and some 250 families were also left homeless as a result, official sources stated on Tuesday.

According to a volunteer for the local Fire Department of the nearby town of Venadillo, a vehicle was swept away by the avalanche with two people inside, who were drowned.

The volunteer claimed that the driver managed to escape when the vehicle swept off the road but the two passengers did not get out in time and were killed, reported news site EFE.
