Two dead after buses race for passengers

Two people were killed and 21 injured after a bus crashed into a Cali
home Friday. The driver had been racing a competitor to be the first to pick
up passengers.

The driver had been racing another bus driver on carrera 72 and was competing with his colleague to be the first to pick up passengers and collect their 1,200 peso bus fee.

The driver lost control of the steering wheel and crashed his packed bus into a home on the corner of calle 29 in the Poblado neighborhood.

Two of the passengers died. 21 passengers were taken to hospital for treatment.
