Two Colombian artists take home Latin Grammys

Colombian artists ChocQuibTown and Diomedes Diaz won awards at the Latin Grammys held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday.

Diomedes Diaz beat out his fellow Colombian nominees for the best cumbia/vallenato album, newspaper El Heraldo reports. The rappers of ChocQuibTown won the Latin Grammy for best alternative song and also performed “De Donde Vengo Yo” during the show.

Jorge Oñate, prior to the show, received an excellence award from the Latin Recording Academy, recognizing his contribution to Colombia’s folklore over the past 40 years.
