Turkish authorities have captured 32 alleged members of the cyber-attack group “Anonymous” that is held responsible for the hacking of a number of government websites, including Colombia’s.

Arrests were made Sunday in 11 different provinces around Turkey. Among those arrested were eight minors, reported Reuters.

According to the Turkish state news agency Anatolian, the hackers conducted an attack on the country’s Directorate of Telecommunications in protest of new Internet restrictions the recently elected government is set to impose.

On Friday, Spanish police arrested three suspected members of Anonymous allegedly responsible for the cyber-attacks.

Anonymous carries out denial of service attacks by flooding the servers with traffic, effectively crippling the system. According to Reuters, the online network of members coordinates attacks by publicizing instructions online.
