Tolima take home three points from Pasto

by Jonathan Roorda September 29, 2008

Ramirez put Tolima in the lead after nearly an hour at Deportivo Pasto, but Arrechea equalised from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute.

But Tolima would get the victory, which allows them to maintain move back into first place, as Bustos netted the winning goal with three minutes left.

Atlético Bucaramanga couldn’t score at home versus Deportes Quindío, and couldn’t take advantage of Junior’s Saturday defeat to move into third place.

Atlético Nacional’s chances of making it to the next round are getting slim as Deportivo Pereira were the better side in Medellín. The only goal of the match came from Medina in the 31st minute.

Once Caldas climbed to sixth place thanks to a 2-1 win over Envigado FC. Valencia did put the away side ahead in the 31st minute but before half time, the Manizales outfit had turned things around through Ciciliano (penalty) and Mena.

Deportivo Cali did themselves a big favor beating Atlético Huila 0-1 with a goal from Montero just after half time.

Millonarios had a good start of the season but began to slack in the last few matches. América de Cali took advantage as Ramos scored the winning goal after 78 minute. Millos are now 8th, but América follow in 9th place with the same amount of points.

La Equidad may still hope for a spot in the next round following a win over Copa Mustang I champions Boyaca Chicó. Sixty-two minutes had been played in Tunja when Serrano scored the only goal.

Funny fact; René Higuita (42) and his new team Pereira make quite a chance to make it to final stage of this leg of the Copa Mustang. Nacional, the illustrious goalie’s team from way back seem to have lost all faith.
