3 soldiers reportedly killed in minefield

Three Colombian soldiers reportedly were killed in a minefield in the south western Valle del Cauca department on Saturday.

The incident happened in the village of La Moralia in the north of the department.

According to Caracol Radio, five other soldiers were injured and taken to a hospital in the city of Armenia for immediate treatment.

The death of the three soldiers brings the death toll among security forces fighting leftist guerrillas to nearly 60 since the inauguration of President Juan Manuel Santos.
