Three miners die in explosion

by Adriaan Alsema January 12, 2010

Colombia news - miners

Three miners were killed and one injured in central Colombia on Tuesday in an explosion which took place in the coalmine they were working in.

The accident took place in the La Mesa coalmine in the Boyaca department and is thought to be due to the accumulation of explosive gases in the mine.

Every year several miners die at work in Colombia.
