Teachers pimp out students in Cordoba: NGO

Teachers from state education institutions are acting as pimps for their students in the northern department of Cordoba, according to a report by an NGO dedicated to the prevention of the sexual exploitation of minors.

There have been 26 cases reported cases in six municipalities of teachers pimping out their students in the last three months, Caracol Radio reported Wednesday.

Project Coordinator of NGO Futuro OSC, Glenis Penate, said that the cases had been reported to the Department of Education and the government welfare agency Bienestar Familiar.

Penate said that the teachers had promised their students better grades or other forms of blackmail in order to get them to participate in the sexual exploitation
