Tanja Nijmeijer begins journey to peace negotiations: Reports

Dutch FARC guerilla Tanja Nijmeijer allegedly left the jungle Tuesday on her way to Havana, Cuba where she will take part in the upcoming peace talks with the Colombian government.

Although Nijmeijer’s whereabouts have not been confirmed, it is rumored that she may have flown from Neiva to Bogota with U.N. security escorts on Tuesday en route to Cuba where she will assist with translations.

Peace talks between the FARC and the Colombian government are currently underway in Oslo, Norway. If an initial agreement is reached, both sides will meet in the Cuban capital on November 15 to continue negotiating an end to Colombia’s nearly half-a-century long armed conflict.
