Swedish national kidnapped in northern Colombia

A Swedish national has been kidnapped from the farm she owned in the northern Colombian department of Guajira, authorities said Tuesday.

The 32-year old woman, who has dual Colombian/Swedish nationality, was kidnapped on Saturday, the local director of the DAS, Colombia’s intelligence service, told radio station RCN.

“We had the opportunity to talk to the husband of the lady. He said that some armed men came, tied her up and took her,” the DAS official said.

Authorities say there is no information on the whereabouts of the woman or the identity of her captors, and no calls have been made to demand a ransom.
