Suspects arrested for murder of Cordoba students

Magdalena police have arrested two suspects, one adult and one minor, in the murder of two university students in the department of Cordoba, Colombia.

Police are yet to release further information on the arrests.

The victims, 20-year-old Silvia Mora Castellanos and 22-year-old Juan Carlos Ariza Castellanos, studied at the University of Cartagena in Cerete and were murdered on February 3.

The murders came just one month after two Bogota students were killed in the same area. These tragic incidents have brought international attention to the increasing violence in the Cordoba department.
