Three people were kidnapped whilst traveling between the Colombian departments of Choco and Risaralda on Tuesday. Authorities suspect guerrilla group the ELN to be responsible.

According to Caracol, the three men were abducted somewhere between the Choco town of Tado and Pueblo Rico in Risaralda after guerrillas set up a false check point on the highway.

The victims have all been identified as employees of the Metrocorredores 8 construction company contracted to work on the road connecting the western cities of Pereira and Quibdo.

The Colombian military is searching the area for the abducted men.

Last week seven other people were kidnapped by guerrillas thought to belong to the ELN in the northern department of Nariño, but have since been released.
