Earthquake hits Tolima, leaves no injuries

A magnititude 5.0 earthquake hit the central Colombia Tolima
department Friday morning. There were no reports of injuries or
casualties.

The earthquakque’s epicenter was in Chaparral and was felt in at least five of the country’s departments.

According to seismologists, the earthquake took place 30 kilometers below ground, which kept damages and injuries at a minimum.

Local authorities said that, despite the absence of injuries or damage to buildings, the earthquake did cause panic.
