Strike halts coal output at Drummond Colombia: Union

A strike halted coal output at U.S. miner
Drummond’s operations in Colombia, a labor union representative said
Tuesday.

Juan Carlos Ortega, spokesman for the Sintramienergetica union, told
Reuters that workers downed tools to demand improved safety after a worker
was killed in an accident.

The Alabama-based company said recently it expected its output in
Colombia to rise 23 percent this year. Drummond produced around 22 million
tonnes of coal last year. (Reuters)
