International superstar Sting will be performing in Colombia as part of this year’s Buchanan’s Forever charity music event, reported radio Caracol on Monday.

The platinum-selling British artist will participate in the event which last year saw performances from big names such as Elton John and James Blunt in the capital cities of Venezuela and Mexico.

Working with Buchanan’s whisky, the event aims to be a collaboration of philanthropic musicians to raise awareness and money for charity organization Learning for Life.

“I am extremely pleased to be participating in the Buchanan’s Forever event to support Learning for Life,” said Sting, “Education is really at the heart of bettering societies.”

The show will be the singer’s first time performing in Colombia and he is said to be “very happy” about the prospect of his debut.

The concert will take place on May 6 in an as yet unconfirmed location.
