State guards caught kidnapping farmer

Three agents of Colombia’s Prosecutor General’s Office were arrested on Sunday after allegedly kidnapping a wealthy landowner.

The three agents, together with two civilians, were arrested in the central Colombian Meta department after they were caught transporting the victim in a special armored vehicle with a falsified arrest warrant.

When highway police checked the arrest warrant, and found that no warrent to arrest the landowner had been issued, the men were arrested.

The five suspects were taken to the capital of Meta, Villavicencio, where they will be indicted for kidnapping.
