Spanish police arrest wanted Colombian ‘hitman’

Police have arrested an alleged Colombian hitman and gang leader in Valencia, Spain, international media reported Thursday.

Alberto Alarcon Quintero, alias “Pipi,” is reported to be one of the two leaders of the most active group of assassins in Cali.

He was living in Valencia, southeastern Spain, under a false identity, Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported.

The arrest of Alarcon Quintero came as a result of a joint operation between Spanish police and DIJIN, Colombia’s judicial police.

An international arrest warrant was issued against Alarcon Quintero in 2006 for his role in the murder of a man who was shot several times at close range.
