Spanish government donates money to Shakira’s foundation

The Spanish government donated €275 thousand (US$400 thousand) to Shakira’s charity organization Piez Descalzos, online newspaper Enfoque Regional reported
Tuesday.

Accordng to the website, the money will be used to build a library and a theater, to buy books, computers and sport equipments for schools in Shakira’s hometown Barranquilla.

Over 1,700 poor children will benefit from this financial aid. Piez Descalzos (meaning barefoot) already funded the creation of several schools in Colombia.
