Spain: ETA and FARC helped each other

A Spanish prosecutor says the Basque separatist group ETA and Colombia’s FARC rebels have collaborated with each other.

National Court prosecutor Vicente Gonzalez Mota says representatives
of the two groups mainly taught each other bomb-making techniques.

Gonzalez Mota is asking the National Court to indict five suspected members of ETA for engaging in such activities.

He said in an order issued Friday that links between the two groups are
substantiated by documents seized from ETA and others from leaders of
the leftist FARC.

Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reported Thursday French investigators also confirmed ties between the two illegal armed groups.
