Soldiers sentenced to jail for 2003 massacre

One Colombian army major and three soldiers were sentenced to 40 years in jail Friday for the massacre of four civilians in 2003.

According to the judge, the four members of the military were guilty of the murder of four men in the town of Cajamarca, Tolima. Two of the victims reportedly were dismembered by the murderers.

The soldiers initially tried to put the blame of the November 2003 massacre on paramilitaries.
