Colombian actress Sofia Vergara has confirmed her place as a Latin superstar during a fantastic year in Hollywood.
2011 was a busy year for the actress with the release of three films: The Smurfs, in which she played a greedy entrepreneur; animation Happy Feet 2, in which she lent her voice to a female penguin, and the romance New Year’s Eve, which was recently released in the United States.
But it was her ongoing role in the U.S. television series Modern Family which garnered her most success – this year she was honored for her work with Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations.
It’s the fourth time Vergaras has been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild prize, according to Radio La FM, and the second time she’s been up for a Golden Globe.
The results will be announced at ceremonies on January 16 and 29.
