Colombian actress / bombshell Sofia Vergara returned to U.S. cinemas in a new movie by Tyler Perry, Madea goes to jail.
The Barranquilla born beauty plays the small part of a latina psychopathic killer who ends up in jail with grandma Madea after having murdered no less than 18 men.
Vergara does hope for her own leading role at one point, but admits her still very apparent latin accent is in the way to become a big star is Hollywood.
“Reality is reality. With my accent nothing more than playing a latina will happen.Of course I am happy to play latin roles, I have no problem with that. I am who I am,” Vergara told Colombian newspaper El Espectador.
Even though her role in the Perry film is no bigger than one minute, she did working with the actor /director with whom she also collaborated in Meet the Browns.
Despite the nameless part in Madea, Vergara’s agenda is pretty full for the rest of the year. She’s been casted for the pilot of an ABC television pilot called American Family and will play Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago that will be shown on Broadway.
