Sofia Vergara left without Emmy for 3rd time

Colombia’s most successful actress, Sofia Vergara, failed to obtain an Emmy award for the third consecutive year Sunday.

The Barranquilla-born bombshell had been nominated for an Emmy as Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, but lost the prize to her “Modern Family” colleague Julie Bowen, who walked away with the same award last year.

Bowen did show solidarity with her Colombian colleague, saying “God bless Sofia Vergara” while accepting the Emmy.

Vergara rose to fame in Colombia while acting in local television productions and slowly climbed the fame ladder in the U.S. obtaining minor roles in movies and the hit series “Entourage.” It wasn’t until Modern Family that she rose to the peak of her fame.

The 40-year old Colombian recently said that after her role in Modern Family she hopes to be playing for Latin American audiences again.
